It has been another fulfilling year for the Alumni. We now have over 4000 members and have contributed over $700,000 to the school. This past year over $30,000 was dispersed throughout the school to Athletics, Dry Grad, Dragon Boating, Drama, First Responders, Info Tech, Math, Modern Languages, Music, Science, Student Council and Scholarships. We also sponsored for the second year “Breakfast with Santa” Currently we are organizing an event for Richmond High, celebrating its 90th Anniversary and the RSS Alumni Association celebrates its 30th. Richmond High Celebrates 90 years will take place on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at the school from 12-6 pm. Please look for more details in this newsletter. We look forward to seeing you there. Yours truly, Beth McKenzie Gibson
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE: On behalf of all the current students and staff at Richmond Secondary School, I extend my sincere gratitude to the RSS Alumni Association for their ongoing interest, loyalty and support of our school. While our students are focused on learning and striving to achieve their personal and academic goals, the current generation is also aware of the proud traditions of academic and extracurricular excellence at Richmond Secondary School. The RHS graduating class of 2018 understands that this is the 90th year in the tremendous history of our school, and it is their responsibility to build on our legacy of excellence. Richmond Secondary School remains an important part of our growing community and this includes students, families, community organizations, businesses and our thousands of alumni. We are grateful for the ongoing, dedicated and active presence of the Richmond Secondary School Alumni Association and the generous support they have provided since their inception in 1988. The thoughtful support of the RSS Alumni has helped sustain many of the traditions, legacy and history we value, while also encouraging innovative ideas to help our current students be prepared to lead and thrive in an ever-changing world. We encourage all former Richmond High students to stay in touch with the school by attending Alumni meetings or connecting with the school on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and all links are located on our school website: http://rhs.sd38.bc.ca
I look forward to meeting many former RHS Colts at the Alumni Association’s 90th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday April 21.
Respectfully yours, Jim Allison Principal
