CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS
As of June 2018 the RSS Alumni Association has completed the process of updating their Constitution and Bylaws. These were approved at the AGM held on May 16th, 2018 and have been submitted to Victoria.
Constitution & Bylaws changes
The new Societies Act for the Province of BC is requiring all societies to amend their Constitutions and Bylaws to conform to a unified format. In doing so, the Alumni's Constitution and Bylaws have been rewritten and will be electronically submitted to the Provincial Government by November 2018. There are a number of "wording" and "organizational" changes being proposed but the biggest change will allow for the Alumni to disperse the annual newsletter and communications to its members by email. This will save us thousands of dollars each year. A copy of the proposed changes is on the Alumni website. Please take a moment to review the Draft Constitution and Bylaws as we will be voting on the proposed changes at the 2018 AGM with the following motion.
Motion made by Donna Matheson, seconded by Beth Gibson to: “Accept the proposed changes and amendments to the Richmond Secondary Alumni Association Constitution and Bylaws.” These changes will be submitted to the BC Provincial Government by November 2018 to uphold the new Society Act.
We will be voting on this at the AGM on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018
