Ray Gora

Ray was born in Unity, Sask. and moved to BC with his family and grew up in Richmond. Ray was relocated to Winnipeg in 1957, where he met Carlyne and they got married that year. They were transferred to Edmonton where their daughter Susan was born and moved back to Richmond in 1962. Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carlyne; daughter Susan, her husband Craig and their two grandsons Chris and Jeff; and sister Donna Knopp (Wes).
Ray was a valued and integral part of the RSS Alumni and he was a Director, for many years. He organized our golf tournaments and was awarded the Special Recognition Award in 2008.

Irene Wyndlow (Wright)

Irene was born and raised in Richmond, BC, the youngest child of the Wright farming family on No 3 Road. She was the church organist at South Arm United Church, and a member of Richmond 4-H.
In 1954, Irene attended YTS (Youth Training School) at UBC, where she met Keith Wyndlow. They married in 1959, and settled near Ladysmith, BC, where they raised their two children, Shannon and Ian.
In addition to farming, Irene had a fulfilling career working as a secretary, including as a School Secretary in District 68 (Nanaimo-Ladysmith).
Irene is survived by her two children, their spouses, and four beloved grandchildren.
Irene was a proud member of the RSS Alumni, who enjoyed attending many reunions over the years, and always enjoyed reading the RSAA Newsletter.”

Dorothy (Werseen) Harvey

REID – Bernard (Bernie) Reid of Vancouver, B.C. passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on the evening of January 13, 2019, just three months shy of his 96th birthday. He was born in a log house in Northern Saskatchewan on March 21, 1923. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Marie. Mr. Reid was a Vice Principal at Richmond High from 1966 to 1974. He was well respected by the staff and students at RHS. He always made time to attend reunions when invited and he attended many events at RHS after his retirement. Bernie had a great memory he remembered the names of many students and always took an interest in reminiscing.

WRAY, Geraldine Verena (Dody)
Born on September 30th, 1927, she
passed away peacefully on
September 22nd, 2018, after an accident at home. Dody was a teacher & an active member of the Richmond community. She grew up in Richmond in the 1930’s and was very involved with the history of Richmond High and the old Cambie gym and Richmond Retired Teachers. She attended many of the Alumni events and always sent a note of appreciation afterwards. You will be greatly missed.
